Laminate for wet rooms
Laminate for wet rooms differs from standard laminate in that the substrate is significantly denser. The increased density of the substrate ensures that water penetrates the laminate much more slowly and does not swell it. This laminate can be installed in bathrooms, sauna anterooms and similar areas where the laminate surface is directly affected by water. In rooms such as kitchens and corridors, which are not constantly exposed to water, a simple laminate of good quality, protected against moisture by a factory treatment with wax or other water-repellent material, is also suitable. The best moisture-resistant laminates are guaranteed for up to 10 years when used in wet areas, provided the correct installation technology is used. Good moisture resistance is a key criterion for choosing a laminate for decking in any room, if the aim is to install a laminate that lasts a long time. This is because the most common reason for needing to replace a laminate is not mechanical defects or worn surfaces, but swollen seams. Installing a moisture-resistant laminate in a normal living space can extend the life of the laminate by up to 30 years.
